Hats
I’ve been thinking about this.
Operation Warp Speed will be done delivering vaccines from AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer and other Pharma at some point - probably next spring. Got me to thinking about the Strategic Reserve.
I have just the answer about what to do next.
The US population is 329,877,870.
A typical roll of tin foil is 75 feet long by 12 inches wide or 75 square feet. A well designed tin foil hat requires about 2 square feet of tin foil. Allowing for some waste and inefficiencies, then we need 8,915,618 rolls of tin foil, made into hats - or at least in the Federal Strategic Reserve - ready to go in an emergency.
75/2(sq ft) = 37.5. Round that down to 37; a roll of tin foil provides us with 37 hats. Divide that into the total population and you get 8,915,618 rolls of tin foil.
I’ll contact politicians and authorities in DC on Monday and get the ball rolling. We may need to employ the War Powers Resolution (also known as the War Powers Resolution of 1973 or the War Powers Act) (50 U.S.C. 1541–1548)
